In 1966, Bob Mullen, a novice viticulturist, was cultivating grapes in Woodside and producing Woodside Vineyards wine in his sixth year. He approached their wine buyer one day as a long-time loyal customer of Roberts Market. He convinced her to stock his locally produced wine, establishing a long and appreciated business relationship that has lasted more than 50 years.
Bob, who is now in his mid-90s, still makes personal deliveries to Roberts Market in Woodside and Portola Valley and his other original accounts spread across the San Francisco Bay Area.
